Wantan Mee
Penang Local, p. 72–73
Wontons are small dumplings with a savoury filling, and they are usually boiled in a soup. Wanton mee consists of egg noodles served with heaps of wontons, a special black sauce seasoning, choy sum, char siew and a bowl of wonton soup on the side. The Penang take on this dish is slightly different from the Cantonese version, with minced pork in the filling and a topping of pickled chilli for a more satisfying bowl of wonton goodness.
